Wavelengths 11-21 June 2026

Explore · Experiment · Imagine

Wavelengths Dance Festival returns to Folkestone this June 11-21, bringing a bold and dynamic programme of contemporary dance, performance and participation to venues and public spaces across the town. Rooted in collaboration, experimentation and socially engaged practice, the 2026 edition will connect artists, communities and audiences through work that spans live performance, installation, film and workshops. The festival continues to build on its distinctive approach — creating space for encounter, dialogue and shared experience.

We are proud to announce a new collaboration with the National Youth Dance Company (NYDC), Sadler’s Wells, who will be delivering a workshop as part of the festival. This partnership marks an exciting development, linking Wavelengths with one of the UK’s leading national dance organisations and opening up opportunities for young dancers and wider participation.

While the full programme will be announced shortly, highlights will include Moving Memory's new work We’ll Take It From Here, Dear (Work in Progress) at The Grand, and an interactive exhibition and live performance Obscure Camera by Flexer and Sandiland at Kollectiv

“Wavelengths is about connection — between people, ideas and place. This year’s

festival is growing through collaboration, and we’re excited about the range of work

and voices coming together in Folkestone.”

Full programme details will be announced soon.
